PRIVACY POLICY
Your data stays under your control.
This policy explains how Rivals handles service data, optional analytics, and Google-powered club search.
Service data
Rivals stores the account, player profile, availability, private calendar events, club, friendship, invitation, match, result, and private player-diary information needed to provide the service. Personal training or sparring events, their notes, and manually entered match or sparring results are visible only to their owner; event times are used to remove busy windows from public availability without revealing the private event. Diary entries and focus points are also visible only to their owner. While you compose a new diary entry, an account-scoped unsaved draft may be kept temporarily in this tab’s sessionStorage and is removed after saving or when the tab session ends. Public profile and club-catalog fields are visible as described in the interface; contact details and private invitation data are shared only for the relevant coordination flow.
Google-powered club search
When you search for a club in the club catalog or while creating a match and Google search is available, Rivals sends your search text, profile country, interface language, and a temporary search-session token from its server to Google Maps Platform. Google suggestions and place details are used transiently to display and verify a real tennis or padel venue. Rivals keeps the selected Google place ID to prevent duplicates and may retain the search text you typed as a fallback label; Google-returned names and addresses are not stored as catalog content.
What we collect
We send a broad page category, such as landing, calendar, availability, or match requests, plus the interface language, event time, an event UUID, the public project token, SDK version and technical browser and session identifiers generated by PostHog. These identifiers are pseudonymous, not anonymous: they let us count repeat use without attaching a Rivals profile.
What we never send
We do not send names, email addresses, WhatsApp numbers, usernames, messages, private calendar events or notes, diary entries, focus points, court names or addresses, exact match dates or match start times, match IDs, invitation tokens, full URLs, query strings, or URL fragments.
IP address handling
Like any internet request, an IP address may be handled transiently when PostHog receives an event. The Rivals project is configured to discard client IP data, and every event disables IP geolocation. The IP address is not retained as an analytics event property.
No recordings or automatic capture
Session replay, screen recording, automatic click capture, form capture, surveys, exception capture, heatmaps, referrer tracking, and advertising attribution are disabled.
Your choice and this browser
Analytics is off until you explicitly allow it. Your choice, this notice version, and the decision time are stored only in this browser’s localStorage so Rivals can remember it; a new notice version asks again. You can refuse and keep using Rivals, or change your choice below. Turning analytics off stops future collection; earlier pseudonymous events remain under the retention rule below.
Processor, location, and retention
PostHog Inc. processes analytics in PostHog Cloud in the United States. Access is limited to authorized Rivals participants, PostHog, and its listed subprocessors as needed to provide the service. Events remain while the Rivals PostHog project is active, until Rivals deletes them or ends the service; limited copies may remain where PostHog must keep backups or legal records. Rivals does not currently promise a shorter fixed period.
